Home Testimonials Our Products Why Hypnosis Works Contact

Sport hypnosis works on the principle of connecting mind and body together, advances in neuroscience and psychology have proven that the two are undoubtedly linked. Our minds and our bodies are in constant communication with a flow of neurotransmitters from the brain to the cells of the body and back again. You see, your body responds to the way you think, feel, and act.

Hypnosis uses the subconscious mind to make sure the right messages are transmitted from mind to body, for instance in lawn bowls it will help create a consistent pre shot routine. It also develops muscle memory giving better line and weight control as well as increased focus and concentration. And so it is no surprise that hypnotherapy provides sports men and women with an invaluable “secret weapon” that can dramatically improve overall performance. If you would like to hear from a few players as to how my recordings have helped them then checkout the testimonials click here.

I find it very satisfying to have helped many sports men and women over the years to achieve their goals. Enhancing sports performance with hypnosis is nothing new, it has been used to improve sports performance since the 1920’s and since that time it has become even more effective. As we gradually began to understand more about hypnosis the whole induction process has been refined to such a point today where the state of hypnosis can be entered quickly. While one on one hypnosis sessions are highly effective so too are self hypnosis recordings. This is especially true when the session is targeted directly at your sport, in this case lawn bowls.

When the hypnotherapist is also involved in the sport they have a true understanding of what is needed to get the best results.

My hypnosis journey began over twenty years ago. At the time I was a ten pin bowler, after 5 years of bowling my game average was 150. It seldom changed more than 2 or 3 up or down and so my average had levelled out and further improvement was difficult to achieve.

I came across a self hypnosis sports improvement recording and decided to give it a try. Within 3 months my average had increased to a steady 165. This recording was not specific to ten pin bowling and I was excited to think how much a hypnosis recording directly targeting ten pin bowling may further improve my performance. From that point on I developed my own hypnosis session directly targeting ten pin bowling. I experimented with different sessions and within 2 years increased my game average to 183. Unfortunately a back injury ended my ten pin bowling days.

A few years later I took up lawn bowling and once again I could see the potential to improve performance with hypnosis. This time however I thought why not help other players improve their game as well. The time had come to really get a lot more involved in the world of hypnosis. I decided to become an accredited hypnotherapist, and after gaining my diploma I completed an additional accreditation specifically in sports hypnosis.

There are many well-known athletes who have used hypnotherapy to achieve significant gains in their performance, regardless of their discipline. Hypnotherapy helps athletes to perfect their skills, finely tune their technique, improve their self-confidence and overcome self-doubt or performance anxiety.

Tiger Woods is just one example of a top sportsman who has used hypnosis to achieve a phenomenal level of success. He has been using self-hypnosis techniques and mental imagery, since his early teens.

Another way in which hypnosis can be utilised in competitive sport is in dealing with pain and injuries. Learning to disassociate from pain can help you cope better with it, and perform in spite of it. This can be particularly pertinent to our game of lawn bowls where some people can still be still playing in their 90s.

People play competitive sports to Win. That's why we keep scores.
